We have two children at Aldersgate, a 2 year old and a 6 month old. Tuition is $310 per week. In addition, the day care takes entirely too many off days outside of normal holidays that parents have to pay for. For instance, they took 3 days this week for a teacher’s in-service and the parents still have to pay full tuition. That means this week my husband and I had to pay for 1 week at Aldersgate at $310 for 2 days and another $260 at a home day care for the 3 remaining days. If they really cared about the children and valued the parents this could have been done after hours. I work overtime, why can’t they? Also, their regular hours are not conducive to working adults. They open at 7:30am and close promptly at 5:30pm. When I was commuting to and from Auburn everyday this schedule would have been impossible without my husband.
Aside from hours, another issue I have is that the day care will not advance your child based on their comprehension. They must be a certain age before they are allowed to go to the next class. This is bad for my child because she has been missing out on being challenged.
All that being said, my oldest enjoys the teachers and the activities the school provides. We have however, placed both of our children on the waiting list for Alfa’s Daycare and plan to move the children at the earliest opening.
